Eps sandwich panel definition
Sandwich panels are typically single piece, modular factory engineered units comprising two metal faces an a fully insulating core. The metal facings are fully bonded to the core so that the panel acts compositely when under load, in most cases, providing free standing panels. Facings used for insulated panels are predominantly of steel. Wall sandwich panels with EPS core are intended for applications in various kinds of buildings: industrial, commercial and housing. During production, an EPS-cored sandwich panel from EuroPanels range is formed out by external and internal metal facings, which are profiled into a desired shape. These facings are then glued to polystyrene blocks with special polyurethane glue.
The advantages of EPS panel include:
· High load bearing capacity at low weight
· Effective and durable thermal insulation
· Absolute water and vapour barrier
· Air-tightness for controlled environments
· Long life, low maintenance
· Lightweight, fast and economic construction
· Most cost effective insulation material available
