What is Standing Seam Metal Roofing System
Standing Seam Metal Roofing is a concealed fixed roofing system, which means fasteners are not visible or exposed to the weather. It is characterized by raised vertical seams at each end with a flat space in between. The side edges of one roof panel are zipped or seamed along the length with the adjoining roof panels. Roof panels are attached to purlins or roofing substructure by clips or support. The concealed fastening system eliminates the need for piercing fasteners and helps provide weatherproofing and superior resistance to wind uplift.

The standing seam system can be bent directly on the job site, reducing shipping costs and ensuring a correct fit. The flexible standing seam system is YX65-260/330/400/430
The biggest difference between these two classic metal roofing systems is the method of attachment. Standing seam panels are a concealed fastener system which means the fasteners don’t penetrate the face of the panel during installation and they’re not visible. Corrugated panels are an exposed fastener panel, meaning that you need to drill a screw hole through the panel to fasten it to the structure.
