PU-sealed rockwool sandwich panels (also known as polyurethane edge-sealed rockwool panels) are high-performance composite building materials that feature a non-combustible rockwool insulation core encapsulated by rigid polyurethane (PU/PIR) foam along its edges, all sandwiched between two protective metal skins. This hybrid construction combines the excellent Class A fire resistance of rockwool with the superior waterproofing, airtightness, and structural strength of polyurethane.

Manufacturing Process of PU Sealed Rockwool Sandwich Panel

The production of PU sealed rockwool sandwich panels begins with high‑density rockwool slabs as the core material. These slabs are precisely cut to thickness and fed into a continuous lamination line. Simultaneously, pre‑painted steel coils are uncoiled, cleaned, and primed for strong adhesion.

The rockwool core passes through a foaming chamber where liquid polyurethane is applied to its edges. This PU sealing cures rapidly, forming a rigid, moisture‑proof border that bonds the core to the metal facings. The entire assembly then moves through a double‑belt press, where heat and pressure laminate the three layers into a single panel.

After curing, the panels are cut to custom lengths, stacked, and packed for shipment. Strict quality controls monitor core density, adhesive strength, and edge sealing integrity at every stage, ensuring consistent fire resistance, thermal insulation, and durability for roof and wall applications.
