☆ Why this topic?
With global warming continues to intensify and global sustainability pushes, leaders of each country are looking to cutting carbon emissions.
When it comes to carbon dioxide emissions, what do you think of first? As a seller of construction materials, the first thing I thought of was cement.The cement industry is one of the primary producers of carbon dioxide, a potent greenhouse gas.[1] Let’s take a look for global cement production growth since 1900.
These data are from Global CO2 emissions from cement production, 1928–2018.[2] Taking a look at these data,you can feel that concrete and cement are occupying our lives,the roads we drive, the bridges we walk, the buildings we live in or work in, etc.And do you know environmental impact of concrete?
★ Aggravate global warming;
★ Destroy the most fertile soil on the earth, namely topsoil;
★ May cause soil erosion, water pollution and flood;
★ Concrete dust from building demolition and natural disasters may be the main source of air pollution;
★ The presence of certain substances in concrete, including useful and unwanted additives, may cause health problems due to toxicity and (usually naturally occurring) radioactivity.
As a human in this world,all of us need to do our best to protect it and find ways to solve or slow down the situation.
☆ How to do?
Try alternatives that have far less of an impact on the environment
Insulated metal panels for roof and wall are one of these green alternatives. Insulated panels have advantages of aidding zero energy and carbon-neutral efforts by producing an airtight, moisture-resistant, rigid, continuous-insulation envelope. Insulation panels are with high R-values,which can offer excellent thermal performance and reduced energy costs. Finally, this results in fewer greenhouse gas emissions and reduced energy costs.
To choose a light weight steel villas is also an excellent and smart choice,in this way,it can greatly reduce the use of concrete.
Changes in the construction industry
In order to truly make a difference in the fight against CO2, people in the design and build industry, must try all measures to sweeping changes that move away from using concrete.
Choose reused or environmental concrete
Many cement manufacturers have done research and development on the reuse of concrete and launched many new products. When we buy, we try to choose those environmentally friendly or recyclable products.
Warmly welcome you to offer more advice,and take action!
