How to choose the structure building type?

(1) Reinforced concrete structures are generally chosen for multi-storey projects with a height of no more than 150 meters;
(2) For high-rise projects over 150 meters in height, steel structure or concrete structure may be used;
(3) Masonry structure may be adopted for the residential buildings or small projects in backward and remote areas.


How to choose the architectural system?

For reinforced concrete structure, when the height of the house is no more than 120 meters, there are generally three conventional structural systems -- frame structure, shear wall structure, and frame-shear wall structure.(1) For schools, office buildings, clubs, hospitals, shopping malls and other buildings requiring large space,When the height of the building does not exceed the following table, generally choose the frame structure;When the height of the building exceeds the following table, the frame-shear wall structure is generally selected.(2) Shear wall structure is generally selected for high-rise residential buildings, apartments, hotels and other construction projects with fixed partition positions and small space.Partial frame-supported shear wall structure is generally adopted when large space is required for the first floor or several floors at the bottom of high-rise residential buildings, apartments or hotels due to building function requirements (such as lobby or commercial).(3) For high-rise office buildings over 100 meters in height, the frame-core tube structure is generally adopted.


Is it reasonable to use a frame structure for a 40-meter-high office building?

Unreasonable.
The economical and applicable height of the frame structure in the 7-degree area is 30 meters, and shear walls should be arranged in appropriate positions (such as stairs, elevators and auxiliary rooms) for more than 30 meters to form the frame-shear wall structure system.
This shear wall bears most of the horizontal force, which greatly reduces the force on the frame, thus reducing the cross section and reinforcement of the frame column and beam, making the structure more economical and reasonable.


How to choose reasonable for steel structural frame materials?

(1) Concrete: The concrete strength grade of multi-storey frame column is C25 and C30, and the concrete strength grade of high-rise frame column is C35 and C40.
Beam concrete strength grade C25, C30.
(2) Reinforcement: HRB400 is generally used for beam, plate and column reinforcement, while HRB500 can be used for beam longitudinal reinforcement.

How to determine the reasonable thickness of floor slab?

(1) Within the range of normal load and normal span, the thickness of one-way plate is about H =L/30, the thickness of two-way plate is about H =L/38, and the thickness of cantilever plate is about H =L/10, and the calculated reinforcement should be close to the structural reinforcement.
(2) In practical engineering, the value of general plate thickness is more than 100mm, 120mm and 150mm.
